How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094500 / 285671 Lid Switch Assembly

Replaced the lid switch . 

Replaced Water Level Pressure Switch on Kenmore washer. Simple procedure, 15 minutes max. And replaced Lid switch. Old one was worn from years of age and would not always engage. Possibly we could have continued to use the old switch by tightening it in place, but chose to replace as well. But we were most impressed by customer service rep we spoke with before placing the order. AND extremely satisfied with shipping and delivery as promised! Shipped same day and 2 day delivery. Bought a lid switch and installed the switch 

I installed the lid switch. Took old switch apart and contacts where bad. 

Watch video, helpful. Part needed a little adjustment to install, after all the washer is 38 years old. Got it on and running , most of all wife is happy she can wash and hang out or dry the clothes. She said I need you, at 71 it is nice to be needed married 51 years and still the man to go to. Bill 

The part arrived super fast (1.5 days) The repair video was extremely helpful and easy to follow. My husband and I saved $100.00 by doing it ourselves. We definitly recommend using this company and will order again it the need arise. 

As temporary fix, I jumpered around the switch, and ordered a replacement for a permanent fix. I watched the repair video which was a help but not quite the same model as my washer. Part arrived within 2 days. Since the plug on the replacement switch would not work with my washer, I cut the plug off and spliced the plug from the old switch in its place. Completed re-assembly, removed the temporary jumper, and closeout. Worked fine.
