James L Los Angeles , CA August 15, 2014 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW6600SB2 Whirlpool cabrio washing machine had f50 error code would not spin or agitate Did test 3. I first replaced the stator because there were cracks in the plastic. Still error F50. Replaced the wiring harness and the sensor and top plate because it only comes in a kit and the connection to the sensor had changed so you have to use the kit and change it all out. Spent many hours taking this machine apart and checking connections and testing and retesting... still F50 error code. Changed out the control board next... took all of 10 min, woo-hoo!! it worked. It's not worth my time to switch back the kit and return it and the stator was cracked in four places anyway, I had already replaced the bearing and seal two months earlier so I hope it will be trouble free for many years now. I would say that the hardest part in the repair was having to remove the one elbow hose to get the wiring harness out and new one in through the correct way...have something to catch the water. I hate that type of clamp and it is a challenge to do it even with channel lock pliers. Make sure you have it back together correctly or it will leak. Patience Grasshopper! Ritchie R Eagle River , AK July 17, 2014 Drain pump continued to run after washing machine completed wash cycle and shut off Unplugged washing machine from the electrical outlet, removed the rear panel, then partially removed the drain pump (I left the wiring connected so I could check operation of the pump). Plugged electrical cord back in and checked pump operation - all seemed to be working fine. Reinstalled the pump, then removed the console to check the electronic control board. Used an ohm meter and checked wiring continuity from control board to pump - checked good. Ordered the electronic control board for replacement and it arrived just 2 days after placing my order. Removed the old control board, installed the new one. Reinstalled the console and everything checked good! Washing machine back in full operation! First thing found the basket was jammed throwing out of balance code removed article of clothing that was stuck between the basket and cleaned the contact areas so the basket would float then replaced the suspension rods then still kept getting the f code for the control board so replaced that has been working perfect so far time total for all repairs done in stages about 2 hours mostly on freeing up the basket. Rods took about 20 min. Control board took about 5 min. PS. The technician sheet is taped under the top on front panel has all the diagnostic steps and codes.
