How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3138838 / 285811 Medium Cam Agitator Repair Kit

I ordered the correct parts and they arrived very fast. All the parts were right and were very easy to install. The machine is up and running. 

The internal drain hose had a crack where the water was leaking on the floor.. Removed the drain hose and applied "Marine Tex" around the cracked area of the plastic hose..Let the "Marine Tex" set (harden) over night.. Reinstalled the Drain Hose.. No leakage! Since I removed the large outer cover from the washer frame.. I decided to replace the Direct Drive Washer Pump and I also installed a new Medium Cam Agitator Repair Kit since the washer machine had been in operation for many years.. The cam agitator repair kit fixed my issue. I watched the video to understand how to disassemble and reassemble. Whole process was really easy and we were back to washing clothes in no time. 

I watched a video on Appliance Parts Pros which was very instructive and easy to follow. Then I ordered the necessary parts from AAP and was surprised to receive them the next day. After watching the video once again, I started the repair. The whole process from beginning to completion took less then 5 minutes. Remove the wirn agitator assembly. Seperate the worn parts and replace with mew parts. Re-install in washer and start test. All in under 5 minutes. I don’t know for sure, but I suspect I saved hundreds of dollars having an appliance repair man do the job. And that would mot be practicle for a 25 year old washer that’s been very reliable for me. Thank you “Appliance Parts Pros” for being there I needed you. You can make even the most timid of us feel like a professional applince repair man. This was an incredibly easy repair!!!

Replace broken part 

Ordered agitator repair kit. The teeth had stripped off the dogs after many years of use. The video that was available on the parts page showed that is was an easy part to replace. It took longer to clean all the built up gunk off the inside of the agitator than it did to replace the parts. 

Ordered parts from your company, received them in just a couple days, put the parts on, very easy. Our washer agitator agitates very well now. Thank you. 

The fix went great .All the parts fit perfect.. 

Watched your help video and followed instructions simple, easy, quick. Most time was cleaning top and bottom agitator. For that I soaked them in a mop bucket with baking soda and vinegar mix overnight. Looks new again, musty smell gone.
