How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007247 / WP2315539 Evaporator Motor

First, I found a video on AppliancePartsPros which confirmed my suspicion that the evaporator fan went out. The operator confirmed and assured me the other part I was looking at was probably just fine. So I ordered up the fan. When it arrived, I pulled up the video and completed the repair myself! This is the third repair I've accomplished as a lady with the help of my friends at AppliancePartsPros! I will always shop here because of the support. You can find parts cheaper online, but you are on your own. Stick with these guys. (the job took a little longer only because the drain was frozen over... it had to be defrosted and could probably be mentioned in the repair video as a complication) 

Replaced evaporator motor 

I was able to order the part with the part number on the freezer motor and replaced it. Now everything is working fine. 

I replaced the motor-evap fan. It just was not turning fast enough to distribute the cold air from the frig. Very simple to replace, 20 minutes. Once that was done the frig and freezer started to cool down and the ice maker was making ice in an hour. I replaced the start up capacitor as a “just in case” because it was quick, easy and cheap to replace. The frig is 9 years old but plenty of life left. 

We ordered the blower fan that goes inside of the freezer that pushes the air into the refrigerator and we replaced it and it works perfectly 

I went out on a limb and replaced the motor without testing the thermostat or electronics. Luckily-- IT WORKED! Easy job! 

I replaced the motor for the evaporator fan. Fridge works now and it was a big help having the video instruction. Thank you so much, I wouldn't have been able to do it without AppliancePartsPro 

Watched video to narrow down problem and ordered most likely part to fix problem. The motor evap fan had stopped working and replacement fixed the problem. This saved me $600.00 for the cost of a new refrigerator. 

I first defrosted the freezer then replaced the thermistor. The frig and the freezer worked for a bit but froze up again. So then I ordered the evap motor. Fixed the problem. 

Replaced fan motor located in the freezer. Checked operation checked out ok.
