How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6039916 / W11024089 Evaporator Motor

Replace evaporator fan motor. 

It was very easy to replace! The AppliancePartsPros video was great help! We popped out the old one, ordered and even with the deep freeze problems it was shipped ASAP! Watched Simon on repair video and decided I could try to fix my refrigerator. I ordered the part and decided to also order a new fan blade, just in case. Couldn't hear the motor, but wasn't sure until I took freezer back panel off and could see fan was not moving. Watched the video on the phone while taking the freezer apart, preparing the motor and installing the motor, and putting the freezer back together. The video was perfect, every step! I'm a 64 yr old female, and I knew nothing about refrigerators. Thanks, Simon!

By replacing the fan motor in the freezer. 

I've used Appliance Pro in the past as it gives a great breakdown of the units parts. In my investigation everything g indicated it would be the evaporator motor. With Appliance Pro, major parts are normally accompanied by a tutorial video of how to replace the part. I am not a trained service technician just a retired individual with a agriculture background. The video was very helpful, took me through the entire process from disassembly to replacment then back together once again. The repair was successful and the refrigerator is back working correctly with this repair. 

Replaced fan motor. 

Did some testing to temp sensor and whirpool test codes. finaly did a continuity test on the fan motor, and tested for 120 volts being supplied to the fan motor. narrowed it down to the evaporator fan. diagnostic time took more time than the repair. the video on changing out the fan motor was helpful since the old motor and new one look different. 

Watching your videos and diagnosing the problem step by step. I did end up replace two other parts before this evaporator motor because it was working intermittently. I called APP for assistance and they were very helpful sending me the correct video to assist with the repair. 

I replaced the evaporator fan motor after defrosting the ice buildup and it started cooling again.
