Manuel S Spring , TX August 31, 2015 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator ET18PKXGW02 Freezer "freezing" but refrigerator too warm Confirmed that the evaporator fan was the problem by placing duct tape (yeah, I know) over the vents in the freezer. The refrigerator temp dropped to acceptable levels while I waited for the evaporator fan to arrive from Appliance Parts Pros. Unplug the refrigerator! Using a 1/4" nut driver, removed the freezer bottom and evaporator cover plate. Disconnect the ground terminal (no ice maker in this unit) and set parts aside. Using the same 1/4" nut driver removed 4 screws to plastic motor housing. Disconnect 3 spade lug terminals on motor and closed door to freezer preserving cold air. Set motor housing on bench and used 1/4" nut driver to removed the two grommet-ed screws holding the motor to the housing. Assembly in reverse order. Removed duct tape :-) Read More... I thought about how cool it would be to have a refrigerator with cold beer as the unit used by the house. The fan was locked up so after watching your repair video on Utube, I ordered the replacement component, installed the replacement unit. Works like a champ! Read More...
