My first reaction was to check into craigslist and start searching for a used dryer to replace it. I'd paid $100 for this one about 6 years ago, and I thought that would be the easiest route to go. When I saw "like new" dryers going for $250+, and others only going as sets for the same price, I was suddenly turned off to the thought of buying used from someone I didn't know. Buying new wasn't an option due to it not being in my budget. So I started reading up on fixing dryers and the suggested diagnostic tree for fixing one that didn't start. I ruled out the thermal fuse because I am meticulous about keeping the dryer vent clean and free of lint. I just did not see how heat build up could've caused an issue. The next suggested fix was the start switch. I bought from this website in the past (ironically to fix the belt on this dryer's matching washer) a year or two ago and was happy with the price and ease of finding the part I needed. I entered my dryer model number, found the start switch, and bought it for $25. Piece of cake!
