How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015267 / WPW10117655 Push To Start Switch

My Maytag dryer would not start. Looked online , found appliance parts pro. It took 2 new parts, a dryer fuse and a dryer start switch that were quickly shipped to us, even during the snow storm. It is back together and will be running as soon as the washer has finished it’s cycle. Thank You, Teresa Crabb 

I went to AppliancPartsPros.com and looked up possible problems. I found the top 3 most common problems. 1 was the Thermal Fuse. 2 was the start button. 3 was the door switch. I then found videos on how to install all those parts. WOW !! Talk about professional help. All this in 1 place, and you can buy the part here too? I bought the thermal fuse since it was the most common problem. The part showed up in 3 days. Used the video as a guide to install the thermal fuse. Now dryer works as it should. MC 11-12-21 Portsmouth Virginia. 

I needed a new thermal fuse. Very simple fix once the back panel and vent were taken off. 

My Kenmore dryer kept cutting off during the cycle, didn't matter which setting. The dryer would heat up but would stop after 3 minutes, 7 minutes, 10 minutes, whatever, no rhyme or reason to it. It would start right back up again after pushing the start button but would continue cutting off quite frequently. Very annoying! I searched online and compared symptoms to my machine. One thing I noticed is that if I kept the push-start button pushed in the dryer would keep running. I also noticed that if I wiggled the push-start button a little bit while pushed in, the dryer would cut off and on. All of of this made me think the problem was a failed push-start button. I replaced the push button starter switch and that did not fix it. I then watched the video on how to replace the fuse, followed the instructions and then put it back together. Started right up! 

Ordered replacement switch and replaced it.

Replaced the start/stop switch. 

Followed instructions on the video provided and saved me 650.00 that I was going to spend on a new one. Thanks and the installation wasn't hard at all.
