Patricia L Richmond , VA March 04, 2016 Appliance: Model MAYTAG Very old maytag washer broke down in the middle of a wash Fortunately, my husband is a small engine mechanic and identified the problem. I did 2 web searches, did one, came back and couldn't find it and found your website and your products were a little cheaper. We didn't know if we would be able to find the parts for this old washer that came with the house. Lynne K Farmington , CT January 17, 2018 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer A503 The pulley that drives the belt that pulls the final rinse water out broke. I replaced the pulley and replaced both belts since they had not been replaced in the life of the washing machine (some 40 years). Maytag washers and dryers can't be beat! They last forever! I also replaced the hot and cold water lines with metal braided lines that I had purchased much earlier for safety sake. Rubber supply lines have a history of bursting and causing floods.I never had a problem with mine since I always shut both supply lines off when the washing machine was not in use. Better to be safe than sorry. To replaced the pulley located at the bottom of my washing machine, I needed to tip the machine back enough to access the bottom. I first unplugged the machine, shut off the water lines, and disconnected the water lines- draining any excess water into a bucket. I then tipped the machine back against the wall and propped the bottom up with a sturdy block enough to access the bottom. I removed the set screw on the pulley with an allen wrench and pried off the pulley with a large screwdriver. I tapped the new pulley on gently with a wooden block and a hammer. I replaced the set screw, pushed the pulley unit forward which gave me access to install the new belts. The biggest challenge was making enough room to work on the machine since it is tucked into the corner of the basement near many cabinets. I had to remove and move the dryer to accomplish this. Frank V Stevensville , MD October 20, 2019 Appliance: Model MAYTAG LAT8234AAE Squealing noise and rubber/electrical smell New belt kit. I also ordered and installed a new motor pulley however I don't think the old one was bad. 1st adjustment was wrong and I reviewed the video again. 2nd adjustment was correct and hopefully fixed the issues for a long time. Customer service with APP Pros was great, shipping was fast, and it was a relatively easy fix. Our biggest issue is how the machines are jammed into a closest and getting them in and out for repair, Read More... Joseph H Saint Paul , MN June 21, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer LA482 Washer would not drain Was going to replace (it's a 1985 Whirlpool) but saw underneath it had thrown a belt. After pumping all the water out I tipped it back and saw that the pulley had broken - the old one was stamped and riveted on the lower step, the replacement one was turned - much better. It was an easy repair - one set screw. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Wrench Set
