Chris D El Dorado Hills , CA November 03, 2023 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS02SRSS4 Persistent grinding noise from main assembly when running. Without knowing exactly what the actual problem would be; Main motor? Drain pump? I decided to replace the entire main motor/pump unit of my 17yr old washer. AppliancePartsPros.com has great DYI videos for EACH of the parts they carry. Replacement process was easy given the video instruction. Took the old unit apart and found that it was the $17 food chomper that had broken. Oh well. But through AppliancePartsPros.com, purchased a replacement chomper and rebuilt the old unit to keep as a spare. Who knows when the main motor might fail. Read More... Gene H San Ramon , CA January 13, 2019 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDS30IXWH4 Loud motor, poor washing in top rack. Replaced pump and motor assembly. Although it's likely only the motor needed to be replaced, for the extra $20 it made sense to replace the pump, grinder, etc. at the same time. The video was great and explained the repair process clearly. If you're reasonably comfortable with this kind of thing, the repair is easy. Read More... Mark N Adamstown , MD October 29, 2018 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDP02CRBS1 Water was not consistently recirculating and heater element was not working in dishwasher Replaced the Pump and motor assembly and heating element. I followed the videos provided by AppliancePartsPros.com and the job went perfectly. Both jobs needed the dishwasher to be removed from under the cabinet - mine was hard wired so it was a bit more difficult than unplugging the unit (had to maneuver with the cord still attached - didn't feel like disconnecting wires) Was able to replace both by myself - no 2nd person to assist and it went very smoothly. The video provided helpful hints to make sealing the assembly unit easy. I should have worn gloves as some of the parts have sharp edges. Once complete - I tested the dishwasher and it worked perfectly! Very pleased with the purchase and the savings with doing it myself. Job took about 2.5 hours - but I took my time to make sure there were no mistakes. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Adjustable Wrench, Pliers, Screwdrivers
Jon N Appleton , WI August 20, 2018 Water was not spraying with any force. Lower spray arm was not turning .I could turn lower spray arm by hand, and motor getting hot Watched your repair video. Ordered part. Followed instructions and took about 20 minutes. Only advice I can give is rubber gasket of pump body was a very tight fit into it's seat in bottom of washer. I used a little dish soap to help it slide in easier. Works great. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Adjustable Wrench, Pliers, Screwdrivers
Leslie W Stayton , OR June 03, 2018 Loud screeching/grinding noise during 80% of operation. Started immediately whenever water required. Diagnosed as pump or circulating motor To ensure problem fixed, I replaced the entire motor-sump pump assembly which can be done as a single large unit replacement. I think it likely noise was pump but figured better safe than sorry AND then at least I knew virtually every major moving part was new again. You might find other small 'hiccup' in repair, like this dishwasher had original solid copper water supply line from time house built so I elected to replace it with a more modern flexible stainless steel braided hose, added less than twenty bucks but eases re-install under cabinet. Overall easy fix, BUT, it was VERY difficult to get the very large rubber gasket around unit to install, even lubricating it first as instructed, and fell out repeatedly before clips can be applied.. In repair video the guy just drops it in and 'seats' it. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
