A couple of tricks helped make this repair easier.
1. The washer was tilted back enough to get a 4x4 block under both front feet. This made removing the three screws and lower front panel significantly easier.
2. Getting the system cleared of water was made quite a bit simpler through the use of a wet/dry shop-vac to suck up the water as the filter was opened. Begin by just cracking the filter a hair with the vac sucking up a storm. Gradually keep opening the filter while keeping a close eye on the effectiveness of the vac. Oh, yes - just for good measure, I also had a towel in the compartment area, as recommended on the video. It's tough to be too cautious during these operations.
