How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023956 / WPW10730972 Washer Water Pump

Followed videos. BUT...took longer to find the pump Fed Ex delivered to the wrong place AGAIN. They think Google maps are correct and mailbox names and numbers are inconsequential. Found it five hours later 3/4 mile on another porch. However, Appliancepartspro shipped it super fast. We watched several videos and had a good idea of how the process went. The hardest and toughest part was the clamp going back on the inlet to the pump. Simply wouldn't go on. One video said to use a small radiator type clamp instead. Much easier. Buy one if you don't have a stock on hand. Would also suggest to put the clamps on BEFORE sliding the pump into place because you then have the work room without trying to get arms inside and hold a flashlight. 

After draining out the water and finding nothing blocking it, numerous times, and the pump was noisy, I replaced the pump and the problem was fixed. Draining the water out was a pain. After watching the repair video, the repair was easy, took about 30 min:) 

Our Whirlpool Duet had been intermittently coding F21 and not draining. A couple of times my husband had to extract the water out with the shop vac. Finally it stopped draining at all and it was making a funny noise. After reading about F21 and others stories we figured out that it most likely needed a new drain pump. We ordered the part through AppliancePros. It arrived quickly, as promised, we followed the installation video on line and it really wAs quick and easy to install. (In all fairness my husband is a Mechanic), but I think I could have done it. The video was a great help. Started up the Washer and it worked just great! So much better to buy and install the part, than pay 8x more for a new one! 

Eazy fix 

Replaced it with the help of a great you tube video by Appliance Parts Pros 

Bought new pump. 

Replaced Drain Pump. Repair went easy, However the plastic cover over the electrical connection came broke to pieces. Back Packing job by warehouse. Otherwise things are great 

Simple task. pulled old out of machine and replaced with the one I ordered from APP. Quick and easy fix. Thank you APP for sending me thte right parts the first time. 

I performed the repair it was easy. Only tricky thing was the clamps for the hose. The video on the website gives great instructions for replacing the pump.
