I love this web site. Great pictures of the parts, easy to find what I needed, and showed me associated items like seals and O-rings all in one place. I ordered the Worm Gear Bracket assembly instead of just the gear itself to make things easier. However, the shaft on the new assembly (not the new worm gear itself) had some bad teeth that made a clicking sound when running so I had to disassemble the whole unit anyway to combine the new worm gear with the old shaft/gear.
Also, I felt the need to purchase the specific grease recommended for this machine but the $23 can that I received could have repaired about 8 mixers. It's way too much quantity, especially at this high price. I'm not sure what I will do with the rest. I hate to toss it but I'm not sure that I will ever need it again. I don't repair mixers on a regular basis at all.
The job was not difficult, with the right tools. A punch set is a must for removing a couple of pins and the disassembly required a very extra large phillips screwdriver that I luckily have. Degreasing and re-greasing is messy.
Except for the faulty new shaft and expensive grease, the approximately $50 spent in total was probably better than paying a professional.
