How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6017207 / WPW10215107 Tub Ring

I ordered the "ring-tub", which I thought was a balance ring. (D'oh!). When checking out, Appliance Parts Pros suggested two other items: the suspension rod kit, and tub centering springs. Based on their suggestion, I also ordered the suspension rod kit and two 2-packs of the tub centering springs. I doubled up on the tub centering springs after reading a submission on their website by a previous DIY'r. In replacing these parts, I was surprised to see that there were NO tub centering springs installed on my washer! I can't believe it functioned for 5 years without them. The suspension spring must have weakened, resulting in the violent shaking. I installed all 4 tub centering springs, the 4 new suspension rods/springs, and the tub ring. (The old/original ring was chipped badly from the shaking.) It's only been a few days since the repair, but we've done a number of wash loads of varying size, and there has been no shaking whatsoever. THANK YOU Appliance Parts Pros for suggestion the additional parts. Simply replacing the plastic ring would NOT have corrected the problem. 

Replaced suspension springs and tub ring. I watched the Appliance Pros YouTube videos, it gave me the confidence to DIY the repairs myself. I ordered the parts from Appliance Pros, great price and fast shipping. The parts worked after installation 

First thing, I received my parts on the day after my order. Thank you for that. I had pulled up a video on UTUBE, that showed how to repair the machine. I got my 2 grandsons,ages 12 an 14 to help, My 14 year old watched the video with me, an he seen exactly how to install the bearings. I did the lifting an he mounted the rods to the bearings. DONE. I washed 3 loads to check the machine out, an it worked like new. 

Changed the balance ring and 4 balance springs. Works like new. 

I replaced the suspension rods and it stopped shacking. 

Replacing the rods corrected the problem. 

I fixed it with the parts i received quickly. 

Installed the new suspension kit and tub ring ordered from appliance parts pros.
