How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010947 / WP74006515 Screw

Installed new one. 

Disassembled the oven door to install the new handle.

With replacement parts took oven door apart 

Took upper door off and put new handle on 

I went to a Youtube video that gave a step by step lesson on how to take the oven door apart in order to remove the old handle and then replace it with the new one. It was a bit complicated and even with the video instructions, it was quite challenging to get the brackets lined up for the screws and hold them in place till all the parts were in place. If I had it to do over, I would be more observant as to how I took it apart, thus, putting it back together would have been more clear. All in all, it was a good challenge and I felt a sense of accomplishment when the project was finished. 

I was supposed to pull off the door, disassemble the door, to access & screw on new handle: BUT the door was stuck & frozen on to the hinges, I removed the 2 hinge bolts & still the door wouldn't budge, & I was scared to force & yank it around as the doors glass plate would have shattered, so I unscrewed the top of the door, did a lot of careful bending & reaching & than I was able to carefully slide out the glass of which I was able to reach it & screw on the new handle using the new screws. After that I promised my tenant a brand new oven for the Passover / Easter Holiday in a few months 

I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros and following their step by step repair video. Thanks Steve! It was quick and easy. I completed the project myself and the added bonus was I was able to give the oven door glass a thorough cleaning at the same time. I told my husband to look out, he'll be out of a job soon! p.s. All I needed was a screwdriver.
