How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5737110 / W10612022 Dryer Drum Felt Seal

With the help of your video I took it apart and replaced the worn felt ring at the back, the belt, and a non functioning door switch. It was all fast and easy. 

A friend and I fixed it following the specific directions given in the video. 

Replaced all seals and the dryer works great. 

The repair went pretty much like the video. Much scrapping of the old glue, it is hard to decide when enough is enough, you won't get it all off. It is difficult to reassemble with one person. Please wear gloves, the sheet metal will tear up your hands as you attempt to get the front and drum back in proper placement. I used a bit of a 2x4 I had laying around to prop up the drum and then kicked it out of the way to get the front panel on, well on the third attempt anyway. Replacing the door switch was super easy, just don't drop anything. A very successful repair, I would do it again if needed. 

Followed videos on website for all parts . All repairs were fairly simple. Vacuumed out dryer interior. Put it all back together and tried it out. Was a little noisy at first but once everything lined back up it was as quiet as day one. This dryer is 16 years old. Hopefully it will last a lot longer! 

Watched the video and did what they said to do. Easy as pie.

Once the issue was determined, replacing the fusible link was just a couple of minutes. I decided to take on some the maintenance items of this 12 years old dryer, IE the belt, Foam seal and felt drum seal. It was not hard to do but I wish I would have done a dry fit on the Felt Drum seal to practice getting it perfect (it was a tight fit and required some stretching). It turned out well but had a little clean up of the adhesive. Thanks for the YouTube videos 

Replaced the felt seal, rollers, idler and belt
