How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008371 / WP339956 Lint Screen Housing Foam Seal

Ordered from you guys and watched Matt in the how to repair video... Matt is so cool.... fix my washer last yr the same way... he could have a tv show... too awesome even had my wife do this one with me to help with the tub... thanks so much... I saw the parts for a few bucks cheaper elsewhere but bought here for the service and knowing that is was the correct Whirlpool part... awesome. 

Disassembled the back of the dryer to clean the lint trap housing and the ductwork to the outside. Tested all of the heat-related fuses with a multimeter. Discovered the thermal fuse was bad. Replaced the thermal fuse along with the blower seal and the lint housing seal. 

I determined that it was a failed Thermal Cutoff. I replaced this part twice only to have it fail again within a month. I finally figured it out that I had to replace both the Thermal Cutoff AND the Thermostat (even though the thermostat tested as good). Both of these parts must be replaced at the same time. I also replaced the foam seal around the Lint Screen Housing. This was very easy to replace. 

Replaced lint screen housing seal and blower housing foam seal. 

Purchased Foam seals from you. 

After exposing the seals on the exhaust/blower column, scraped off, cleaned with rubbing alcohol, clean smooth surface, applied seals with a little overlap. 

Replaced with the new ones. 

With Technology and ability 

After doing some trouble shooting I found that the thermal cutoff fuse was bad. I called APP.com and they hooked me up with the thermal cutoff kit. When my parts arrived they were all crushed, I think FED EX danced a jig or two all over my packages in the back of the truck. APP.com swiftly got replacements out to me. The install was a breeze.
