How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985209 / W10822553 Shock Absorber

Removed old shock absorbers and replaced with new. Added additional shock absorbers. All works well without the banging. 

Watched the video on your website. 

Was able to replace all 4 shock absorbers from by removing the lower front panel only. Didn't even have to move the machine. Long arms helped. Reached in with channel locks, vise grip, crescent wrench, whatever would get the right leverage at the given angle. Just twisted the old ones, breaking the lock tabs to remove them in under 5 minutes. Installing the new ones was easy! Turning in the lower mounts first helps get the angle right for aligning the top mounts second. Install the rear ones first, then the front to aid in access room. Start to finish about 20 minutes. 

Very simple fix the shock twists off and the belt spins on all you have to do is watch the video when you buy the part . 

I ordered the replacement shocks from appliance parts pro .com. The parts came faster than expected and I got the exact parts I was expecting. very satisfied with my order. 

Replaced worn out shock absorber 

I ordered a new ice maker and auger, watched the video, and replaced them. The ice maker took 20 minutes. The Auger took about 25 minutes. 

Replaced four shock absorbers. Took a bit longer than the video due to the part not being easily accesible. 

Followed the video provided for the part we bought. Took 30 minutes only! Big thank you to your web site, timely shipping, excellent explanations!
