How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016110 / WPW10167742 Infinite Switch Top Burner Control Switch

I broke down the ice maker bucket and put the new auger in. And installed the infinity switch in the stove. Very simple projects. 

Pulled stove out--removed the back panel. Found the switch part number on the part. Went to appliance pro website (recommended by my son-in-law). Found the part and ordered it. It came within 2 days. Removed old part by unplugging wire holder from back and installed new part. Took me literally ten minutes and that included moving stove out and removing back and replacing part and putting everything back. Saved me a service call.. 

Ordered new switches, installed them, and now all is good!

Once i confirmed the cause of the problem was a bad switch, i found the exact part needed to replace it at appliancepartspros. received the part in just a couple of days, and was able to open the back of the stove and remove the old switch by unscrewing a bunch of phillips head screws, plugged the new switch in, and all works perfectly now. no need for an electrician or a new stove. i'm glad i figured this out on my own and saved a bunch by fixing it myself. 

I got on appliancepartspros.com website and searched my stove model. The awesome exploded view pictorials they provided on the website made it super easy to pick the part i needed . The order process went very smooth and i received my part within a couple days. The website also was perfect in providing a very helpful video of how to remove the panels to gain access to the switch. After gaining access to the switch i noticed that it had large dark burn marks inside of it. I replaced it with the new one and no more burned food thanks to appliancepartspros!
