How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005886 / WP2162361 Micro Switch

Replaced door handle and microswitch. 

Replaced the part needed. I had called a repair outfit and they came out and checked it out. Told me that they needed a part. Waited a week, finally called them, they stated that the part is no longer made and they will have to have someplace in California make a new one. I checked Appliance Parts, they had the part so I ordered it and followed the video to install. Works great now. PS, They charged me $80 to tell me I needed the part. Then I did it myself with the help of the video. 

Removed and replaced microswitch. 

I ordered a switch from Appliance Parts Pros, which they had in stock for my 22 year old Whirlpool microwave. I installed the switch, and the micro works great. I had to come up with an alternate method of attaching the wires since the connector had melted. 

Replaced the inner control bracket. 

Simple fix of replacing a broken bracket that holds both water and ice micro switch's. The tabs holding water micro switch had broken so the switch would not activate when the water paddle was pushed. The hardest part is the control panel removal. 

Googled my frig and was able to find the correct parts. Watched the how to video to replace them. It was very easy. 

Ordered switch and housing that switch attached to. 

Replaced the Interlock Switch, but the problem was the switch holder was broken and I fixed that. 

I replaced the dual water solenoid and micro switch. O my bad that didn’t fix it. I should have taken more time diagnosing the problem. I, finally, called your tech line and told him what I replaced already and that did not correct the problem. He said the water line might be plugged up. He sent the part number to my water line and that there was a video of the installation process. “But First” he told me to check the flow going up to the water dispenser. Easily done, disconnect the water line with the water off. Turn the water back on and see if water is coming out. “It was so the water line has to be plugged . Having a good 150psi compressor, I thought I could blow it out. Spoil alert, never going to happen. I purchased the air line. Will see when it comes. Thank you so much to your tech Guys and Gals.
