- I checked that proper 240VAC was going to the dryer.
- I read the top three solutions to solving this from the Appliance Parts Pro’s website.
- I bought the parts listed by them - door switch, thermal fuse and belt.
- I followed their videos - REMOVED POWER then started taking the dryer apart.
- Door switch was OK.
- Vacuumed out lint in the dryer from the front and SUCESS - I saw the broken belt hanging down the drum. It was smaller than expected.
- Continued to disassemble the dryer - due to age of the dryer, unlocking the electrical connection plugs/receptacle took a little muscle even after I unlocked them with a small screwdriver per the videos.
- Followed directions to put the new belt on the drum. Paid very close attention to getting the belt around the idler pulley.
- Carefully competed the re-assembly as well as vacuuming out the lint inside.
- Plugged in dryer and immediately got the dryer working again.
The site has good videos to follow and for a few dollars extra, I have a spare belt, door switch and thermal fuse.
