How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3177952 / 8193768 Upper Rinse Arm Spinner

Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. Watched the DIY video. Replaced it myself. Yay me!!! Ran the dishwasher once. Seemed to be ok. So as long as it holds I think I was successful. 

Replaced the top rinse arm spinner. 

Went to AppliancPartsPros.com. Watched the video, purchased the part, three days later fixed it! Great idea to use the video! 

I watched the video and did exactly as shown, worked beautifully, now I just need to figure out why the rinse isn't working. 

The part that detached had the part number stamped on it. I did an internet search for the part number which brought me to the AppliancePartsPros.com website. I ordered the replacement spinner kit that included the plastic pin pieces that failed on the original part causing it to detach. The internet search also linked me to the YouTube video that showed me what steps to take to install the replacement kit. The replacement kit was shipped via FEDEX and arrived about 3 days after I ordered it. It took less than 10 minutes to complete the installation of the replacement spinner. 

The replacement spinner came with a new rivet. Two screws were all that had to be removed. Putting on the spinner and pressing the rivet together was easy. The main challenge was working up side down in the unit which in my case was too near the left corner for a right-handed person. Removing the clips on the track for the top rack was a little tricky; not quite like the ones in the video on your site 

I looked at a YouTube video which gave step-by-step clear instructions. I normally would have called a family member to help fix it, but this was super simple! 

I bought the over priced assembly. Easy fix. Too bad you just can't buy the rivet. Looking back, a trip to the hardware store probably would have saved me close to $20 and I would have a more substantial repair, as the rivet in the assembly is a common failure point. 

I finally had a brainstorm and Googled the part number I found on it. That took me to your website. Ordered a new part to get the fasteners it needed. I just repaired the washer a couple of days ago. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the dishwasher door and getting inside to unscrew and re-screw the two screws. The accompanying repair video on your site was a great help. All seems to working great now!
