How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3177952 / 8193768 Upper Rinse Arm Spinner

Ordered new part and replaced. 

Removed 2 screws, replaced the broken part with the new one, replaced the screws. 

Easy 

Just like the video showed me. It took almost 10 whole minutes. The video on line was very good, direct, and to the point. 

I watched your video, ordered the part, put it on according to you tutorial and it worked. The first time. It also allowed me to clean behind the upper rinse assembly. Man, lots of crud behind it. I have no idea if it is hard water buildup or just caked detergent. First full run today. 

Replaced unit

Received the new parts very quickly, always fast shipping from appliance parts pros. Less than 5 minutes with a Phillips screwdriver and new parts were installed and the dishwasher was working perfectly again. 

Fortunately was able to retrieve all parts, however part button snaps into was not snug enough so needed to order spinner kit. Replaced spinner and Was a piece of cake didn't even have to take arm undone, just removed top basket and snapped new parts in place. I do wish however that the button and part it snaps into could be purchased alone without having to get the whole kit which includes the spinner part as this part is in many times reusable and only the button and part it snaps into are needed. As this is not the first time this has happened, I now have 3 extra spinners. 

After watching the video, I felt this was something I could handle. Within one hour I had all three shocks replaced and the washer works beautifully again! Probably the most difficult part was reinstalling the boot flange holder wire as I didn't have the spring pliers. I made do with two screw drivers.
