How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022331 / WPW10498900 Spray Arm

First, I pried open the old arms, and cleaned them out. Then press fit them back together. That was a mistake. They came apart during the next wash and I had burned plastic at the bottom of the dishwasher. I ordered replacement parts (upper and lower arms) which arrived in 2 days. Fast. It takes only 1 minute to replace the arms. The dishwasher is now cleaning as it should.

I researched and bought two brand new replacement spinner/sprayer arms for our dishwasher. The water ejection holes on the originals kept clogging up after several years of use. I'd use compressed air and high-pressure water jet to try to clear them, only for them to clog back up after a couple of months of use. There's no way to disassemble the arms to really clean the insides, so purchasing new replacements seemed the way to go. BTW, the new ones work like a charm! No more half-clean dishes! 

Screwed new arm into receptacle and replaced old end caps 

1. Ran white vinegar through the wash cycle, twice. Helped a little. 2. Used pointed objects to clean holes in spray arms. 3. Replaced all spray arms with new parts ordered from you. 4. Found manifold for upper tray was broken. Replaced manifold. Seems to be working now. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to change the upper spray arm at the top of the dishwasher. It is supposed to pop out; but when I attempt to remove the old arm, the water line pulls loose. I have left the old one in place for now. Took longer to look up the parts than it did to replace them. 

I just popped in the new pump and motor I ordered from here and it was a perfect fit! Thanks. 

Replaced all interior parts 

I replaced by simple place and twist locking nut 

Ordered a new spray arm from Appliance Parts Pro, they were about $10 cheaper than Sears. Received it in just a couple day, snapped the new on in place...done! Doesn't get much easier.
