How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6329217 / W11210459 Washer Water Inlet Valve

To save money my brother and I decided to tackle the repair ourselves. The cold water was not flowing into the washer so when we turned it on it would just hum, so I did some investigating and was hoping I was right. I figured it had to be the Water Inlet Valve. I took a chance and ordered it, found a youtube video on how to replace it and we went to work. What a sweet sound to hear the cold water flow into the machine when we were finished. Success! 

Got the Water Inlet Valve I needed from APP and installed it. 

While troubleshooting, I noticed that the buzzing sound would vary while manipulating the supply hoses attached to the inlets. Knowing that the water inlet valves were controlled by electrically-operated solenoids, I ordered the water inlet valve assy. On this model, replacement of this part required removing a stamped sheet metal panel held by 3 screws on the rear of the control panel and wiggling it past the inlet nozzles. I then removed 4 screws securing the front control panel to the molded plastic end caps inside the caps, and used a small flat-blade screwdriver to release the tension clips keeping the metal control panel against the plastic end caps. That allowed me to let the metal control panel hang by the wiring harnesses behind the machine and gave me access to the Molex plug where the wires from the valve assy landed on the control module. Finally, there were two T15 star screws securing the valve assy to the metal frame of the machine, which I removed and slid the old valve assy out to be replaced with the new one. I was careful to avoid dropping any of the screws into the machine while removing and reinstalling everything. I was also careful to not strip out the plastic holes where the star screws and the metal control panel screws threaded in, which meant hand tools only. Once the machine was reassembled, I reconnected the supply hoses, turned the water back on, plugged the machine back in, and tested it successfully. 

Replaced with the newest Fill Valve, which I bought. The new valve was a perfect fit without any problems. 

Replaced water inlet valve. 

Kenmore/ Whirlpool washer fill cycle very slow, confirmed strainer was clean and water volume was good. I ordered a replacement fill valve, which came quickly, replaced and now it's working fine. 

I was getting a low/no fill error code on our Whirlpool washer (4yrs old) during some wash cycles and other times the machine completed a wash without a problem. After troubleshooting with the ApplicancePartsPros.com technician he suggested the problem was the water intake value. I didn't have a voltmeter to check the input voltage, which was one thing he suggested to do first, so I just ordered and replaced the water intake value. This fixed the problem. The installation was straightforward and took about 45 minutes to complete. The technician, William, was very responsive and helped to resolve the problem. Have a Whirlpool top loader washer. I keep a small bucket with a few plastic coat hangers inside the washer. For a couple of days found I some water in this bucket and started to investigate where it could be coming from. Found it! I checked AppliancePartsPros.com, found what I needed and checked the part number to make sure it was for my washer, it was. Ordered and it was shipped super fast. Found a Youtube video on how to install and it was super easy, took all of 10 minutes and no leaks! 

I first cleaned the inlet hose screens but was not problem. Looked up other issues and saw your video on you tube. Ordered original replacement part from you and in 3 days had washer up and running in about 15 minutes. 

I ordered a new inlet water valve and now it works like a brand new washer! I did not know exactly how to repair it, but once I figured it out, it went smoothly.
