How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6018779 / WPW10289387 Washer Water Inlet Valve

Researched the issue online and determined it was likely a faulty water inlet valve/unit. Appliancespartspros had a great repair video; I ordered the part, received it in a day, and had the repair completed in 15 minutes; great experience and saved likely a few bucks! Thank you Appliancepartspros! 

Did a google search and figured out it was coming from the water inlet valve. Watched a few videos and ordered the part. Super easy fix. 

I replaced the leaky valve with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. It was extremely easy and took about 15 minutes. Just 3 screws, one T20 Torks, and one clamp. I probably saved $100! 

Looked up error code on line. Ordered part. Replaced with new. 

Replaced water inlet valve following online video directions. This is a super easy less than 30 minute fix. Saved me a ton of $ over a repairman or replacement. 

Removed old one and replaced it with new one. 

Called Maytag part dept who referred us to you. A person from handy man service did the repair after watching the video included with the order. THAT video was great!! 

I replaced the the water inlet valve, it had some dirt particles that went past the screen causing it not to completely shut off the water. 

From youtube found that two parts, a vacuum valve and an inlet water valve could be the cause. Ordered both parts on Sunday and received them on Tuesday. Installed them Tuesday night and the washer now works as designed. Would recommend and will keep appliancepartspros.com on my contact list for other parts needed. Thank you. 

Purchased new water intake valve. 3 screws to take top off of front load washer, 1 screw to unhook part from machine frame, 1 hose clamp and hose to unplug, 2 water hoses to unscrew. Since I am not great with gauging sizes of sockets, it took me longer just to find the right size then to actually replace the part and put it back together, total time to replace...under 15 mins.
