How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005547 / WP12722803B Mullion (Blk)

Unscrew old one, disconnect wired plug and reverse process with new one..easy8 

Replaced Door guide and Block Pivot 

The door on our 12-15 year old Jenn Aire french door refrigerator was closing and opening quite roughly. Sometimes quite a bit of force was needed to open or close it. I noticed that the top guide as well as the guide on the muillion strip was worn. It didn't look too bad but I thought that it was worth a try to see if replacing that would work. For about a hundred bucks, my refrigerator feels like new again! It is so night and day that it's really not funny. (Also, I never would have thought in a million years that there is a small heating strip in a door muillion, but there is. It is a 10 watt wire that is used to keep condensation from forming on the seal, kind of interesting.) 

Fixed all the issues by following the videos on the site. It was easy to follow directions 

First, the parts were the exact fit - PERFECT, and the website is a joy to navigate. Second, the instructional videos are well done and I suggest anyone doing a repair watch the video first, no matter how technically adept you are. Third, shipping was quick. Fourth, prices are fair. Lastly, you will save a huge amount of money with little effort if you are so inclined. 

I replaced the door guide and door closure on a Whirlpool MFF2558VEB3 refrigerator/freezer but still, it wasn't closing. I noticed that the hinge side and top of the door (white plastic) were bulging. I ended up piercing the plastic with a knife and with a hot air dryer heated the plastic to a point where I could press it down until it cooled. This was the actual cause even though the door closure did show a little wear. 

Ordered the replacement parts as shown. 

Replaced it with a new one with not difficulty- thanks to you tube video 

Ordered your block, pivot door guide, it now closes great without help. Just have to remember not to help it. The shipping time was great, 3 days! 

I Logged onto AppliancePartsPro submitted the model number and searched the part. It was easy to locate with the part diagrams that are on the website. I ordered the part it arrived in 3 days with standard shipping. Woke up early Saturday morning made coffee and by the time I finished my coffee the project was done. Just needed a screwdriver and socket set was able to complete the project without any help. Before my wife awoke the fridge was ready to go and worked better than new. And we all know the saying Happy Wife Happy Life, I got to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on my hammock without having to complete any other honey do projects.
