How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985825 / W10833899 Water Inlet Valve

Used the part I ordered which was recommended by your site. I knew the water outlet and bracket were different ( the fridge is 20 years old). I used the old back plate and drilled new holes for the bracket. 

Installed new water valve

I bought a water inlet valve and it fixed the problem. The only problem i encountered was having to take the bracket off the old part and install it onto the new one. luckily everything fit so it was accomplished. 

Changed water supply solenoid valve. Half of the instructions packed with th part were missing, pictures were easy to follow if you have any kind of do it yourself experience. 

Replaced the water inlet valves on an Amana fridge and a Kenmore fridge. Solved the problem. 

Ordered a replacement ice maker & water inlet valve from appliance parts pros & installed sed items, ice maker now functions as new. Regular shipping the parts came in 1.5 days. Very good experience overall. And yes, I would order from these people again. Good price, good service. 

Watched youtube repairs to test that the ice maker wasn't the problem. then went to the water valve and was pretty sure the valve was broken. my refrigerator saddle valve would not shut off the water so i had to shut off the main. part delivery was excellent...one day 

Replaced the water valve, which took less than five minutes, and the ice maker now makes all the ice we want. 

Took about 15 minutes was very easy the only thing that would have made it any better would be if the valve was free!!
