How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008413 / WP34001248 Water Inlet Valve (3-Way)

By replacing the 2 parts 

I read how to change valve on your website. Orded valve from your site. The only hard part of changing the valve was removing the hoses which are over 10 years old.They were realy stuck.But by carefuly twisting back and forth with a pair of pliars they came off. 

I looked @ your site for suggested problems and determined it was the hot water valve as it was all corroded I replaced both the hot water valve and the clod water valve and everything works just fine. Happy wife happy life. Thank You!

Having paid repairmen lots of $$$ in the past to fix our appliances, we decided to try a combination of Google and Youtube to diagnose our problem. Our Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer was filling with cold water, even when the washer's power was disconnected. We had to turn off the water to stop the overflow. We searched on the problem and learned from the comments on AppliancePartsPros.com that this is an easy DIY fix. We found a video on Youtube explaining how to make the repair. I was able to replace the valve in about 15 minutes while my husband was out of town. (Feeling pretty proud of myself). :) Saved a ton of money. By the way, I ordered the part one afternoon and it arrived the next afternoon. Prompt shipping!! 

Replaced both parts and the washing machine work perfectly.

Replaced the valve. 

I ordered a inlet valve from APP. It came in less than 2 days. I took the top off the washer and the valve was right there at the top of the washer. Bing Bang Boom. For several years the softener dispenser was not get waster to it and I was having to try to remember to go down and put the softener In at the rinse cycle. Replacing the inlet valve fix that also. 

Ordered a new valve and installed it.
