Warryn April 10, 2014 for Model Number MAH9700AWW Before I replace the 3 way valve, here is what I observed. The softener product when poured into its cup would remain after the wash cycle was completed all other cups (bleach etc) received water. Am I on the right track?
1 Answer Hello Warryn. If there is no water coming out, and there is power to the valve, you will need to replace the valve on the unit. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Jake. Turn off the power and the water to the unit. Remove the screws on the back of the top panel and slide it back and lift off the unit. Next, remove the water supply hose from the valve. Once removed, unplug wires on the valve and remove the hoses from the old valve. Remove the screws securing the valve and remove the valve from the unit. Install the new valve in reverse order. Read More...
Nancy September 02, 2013 for Model Number MAH8700AWW My machine works well with just cold water. The hot water does not shut off. It continues to run. I can turn it off after a few minutes and it will continue the wash.
1 Answer Hello Nancy. It sounds like the hot water valve WP34001131 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Sprtndad January 22, 2013 for Model Number MAH9700AWW We are getting the error code "nF" which means there is a water fill problem. Which part do I replace? Washer works with cold water only, but not with hot. I checked both hoses and they are fine.
1 Answer Hello Sprtndad. If the hot water valve is bad, you will need to order and replace the water valve WP34001131. If there is power to it and no water, it needs to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Don December 29, 2012 for Model Number Maytag MAH8700A The bleach valve on our washer seems to be getting stuck in the open position. Start the wash cycle and it works just fine, but when washer goes into rinse and spin modes, the bleach valve constantly adds water. If I turn the cold water valve off and then on again it stops. I ran all of the "Service Mode" diagnostics and the bleach valve passed the "Quick Service Cycle. In the "Board Output Test", the bleach valve sticks in the open position when I set selector to "delicates". Opens fine when I push selector knob, but will not close when I press a second time. Just wondering if the problem is the valve assembly or the electronics since it passed one test and failed the other.
1 Answer Hello Don, What you will want to do is connect meter to the valve and when you push button it should energize the valve. When you push a second time then it will deenergize. If it continues to energize the valve then you would need a board. If it does deenergize then you will need a water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Pam August 22, 2012 for Model Number MAH8700AWW My washer runs water continuously, even unplugged. I know its not supposed to, my question is does the three way water valve act as a check valve, stopping the water there and distributing it as it needs it?
1 Answer Hello Pam. No, but the water valve is powered and should only open to release water with power. You need to order and replace the water valve WP34001248 based on the information you provided. Read More...
Joe R. January 31, 2012 for Model Number MAH9700AWW What does the 3-way water inlet valve do? My washer will start the wash cycle, the water will run, and the machine will begin the wash cycle. About 5 minutes into the cycle the machine will display an OE error. I have replaced the water level sensor, but still get the error. Before replacing the water level sensor, the error would display immediately. With the new sensor, the wash cycle runs a little longer before displaying the error code.
1 Answer Hello Joe. The three way water valve WP34001248 sends water to different sections of the dispenser. If one of the solenoids are bad on the valve, and it is calling for water and does not work, you will get the error code. Test for power to one of the solenoids and see if there is power and no water coming into the machine. If so, replace the valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
