How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006446 / WP22004333 Water Inlet Valve

I took the top cover off and replaced the water inlet valve which was stuck in the open position due to rust in the water. This fixed the issue. 

Lifted the top of machine to open, removed the old part which was right at the top rear of machine, , slipped in new one and screwed it on. Only took about 15 minutes. 

Replaced water valve 

Ordered a new water inlet valve from ApplianceParts Pro.com. The part arrived in a few days and was installed. Only problem experienced was removing the cold water hose from the supply valve. 

Found info on Appliance repair pros website. Ordered water inlet valve and replaced it.

I watched the video on how to replace my Maytag washer Water inlet valve, ordered the part, which arrived in less than 24 hours! My husband and I replaced the valve quickly without any issues. Works so well I forgot how great the washer works! 

Watched AppliancePartsPros.com video, ordered part, and installed it. This was an easy repair, and eliminated the leaking valve and odor. The only difference among our machine and the video is that it was easier to remove the old valve, and then remove water hoses and reattach hoses to new valve before installing it. A vacuum cleaner is handy to remove dry residue on back top edge of machine near valve. Also, please remember to replace the two rubber water hose washers where connected to machine to prevent a leak. 

Ordered the replacement valve through your site, reviewed the helpful repair video and replaced the valve. Very simple repair and now the washing machine should last another 10 years.
