How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010602 / WP694089 Blower Wheel

I popped the clips holding the motor down off disconnected electrical connector, and then could not get fanblade off to pull motor off. I ended up drilling from back of unit through the front center of fan blade all around the shaft area. Motor came out no problem, but fan blade and seal were destroyed. Once parts received (2 days) I installed all with no problem! I was also able to vacuum out all the dust accumulation and (knock on wood) she is drying as good a new machine!! Thanks Joe 

Frist pulled dryer out from the wall and unplugged the dryer.Took the 2 screws out of the lent filter popped the top took 2 5/16th screws out unhooked wirer to door switch lifted the front up off the two tabs on bottom of front panel set it off to the side unhooked the belt took the drum out.then took screws out of the back set off to side took 4 screws out off lent filter housing pull out on housing tip dryer foward to finish pulling filter housing out . Take a wrench or crescent wrench put on motor pulley go back to blower wheel on blower wheel I think it was counter clock wise and spin of the blower wheel off motor you may need two people one to hold crescent wrench on motor finish by taking c clamps or hold strap on motor off with flat blade screwdriver by push down and out on clamp .Watch were wirer plug is setting so you put back in same spot put new motor in and put back the same way you took it a part . 

Replaced motor, no problem Blower wheel small problem, had to cut around outside blower wheel remove motor, used small hand hack saw. overall job went smooth.

My father and I reviewed the video that was supplied on the page of the drive motor. The demo was great preparation for when it came time to work on our dryer. The best part was the "what if(s)" were answered. The blower wheel cracked and we bought it from this site as with the drive motor. It was nice to be prepared. Once we got the wheel in which was quick in delivery, we fixed the dryer within the hour we started. Great sight with great prices, shipping speed, and videos as well. Can't recommend enough. 

Removed a dead chipmunk from my blower wheel. I originally thought I had a motor problem and began to remove the motor, necessitating blower wheel removal. After having difficulty removing wheel (plastic nut strips easily, inset steel nut takes more force to free). Removing rear exhaust ducting to expose blower wheel, I discovered the unlucky chipmunk, wedged between several blower fins :( I broke the motor free of the wheel and determined the motor was undamaged. In doing so, I trashed the blower wheel, hence my order for a new wheel. Wheel arrived within a day, dryer was reassembled and has dried two loads since.
