Removed kick panel, disconnected water line, moved dishwasher out from cabinet and accessed spring/line/pulley system at door. Replaced spring (plastic end of line subsequently broke but I had a replacement handy) and put the dishwasher back into place, reconnected water line and replaced kick panel.
