The control panel circuit board was burned. Out of an abundance of caution, I replaced both circuit board and the selector panel. The replacements were easy and straightforward. There were plenty of YouTube videos as resource videos as well. One interesting note is that the circuit board fried exactly one year to the day since it was last replacement.
