After checking for clogs and blockages in the drain line. I hooked a power lead directly to the drain pump and found it would not come on. After disassembling the pump, I found I could get it to run if I used my finger to start it, but it wouldn't self-start. Probably a bad motor capacitor. I went to the GE website to find the replacement part number, as the original part had been superseded. Finding the replacement p/n probably took more time than replacing the pump. AppliancePartsPros.com had the required part, and delivery was as promised. Installation took maybe 15 minutes, followed by loading the much-missed dishwasher with a week's worth of dishes for the test drive.
