I actually have had this dryer apart 3 times. The first time the dryer was noisy and I paid attention to the support wheel close to the burner assembly. The second time it wouldn't turn and there was a lot of lint to be cleaned from all over the inside as well as coins and other pocket debris. A sock had gotten wound into the back side of the drive motor. This time the drum was really out of place and upon inspection noted the support wheels were heavily worn down and pointy and leaving lots of rubber powder around. I replaced the felt and wheels to repair. In future inspect felt as well as parts on front of drum when replacing wheels. And the lint contributed to bearing surface issues leading to wheel drag and destruction. Either way both systems need to be in good working order for proper function. The felt gasket keeps lint and things inside the drum as well as the hot air.
