I described the problem on Google and was directed to a YouTube video from AppliancePartsPros.com. The video showed me how to open the front of the dryer and replace the belt. When I opened the dryer, I found that the idler pulley was damaged and needed to be replaced. The belt was still intact, but it also needed to be replaced. I ordered a new belt and an idler pulley assembly for the dryer from AppliancePartsPros.com. I installed the new belt and idler pulley assembly following the excellent instructions on two videos from AppliancePartsPro.com, one video showing how the replace the belt and the other video showing how to replace the idler pulley assembly. Now the dryer works fine again. Repairing the dryer was not difficult. However, I would not have known how to repair the dryer without watching the videos from AppliancePartsPro.com.
