I troubleshot the dryer and found the motor bearings were making the sound. The blower wheel was frozen onto the motor shaft so I had to chisel it off during disassembly. The assembly was very easy. I replaced the motor and blower wheel. I also replaced the belt as a precaution since my dryer was 14 years old.
