John V Tavares , FL April 08, 2018 Appliance: Model DV40J3000GW/A2 (0000) Dryer wouldn't start all the lights would come on like normal bells would chime but no movement The belt had come off, triggering the 'broken belt' switch. Found the tensioner pulley had melted from seizing on the mounting shaft, causing the belt to come off. Replaced the tensioner pulley and retainer. Not knowing much about appliances, it took me longer to figure out how to get it apart and diag the problem, than it did di to actually repair it. I put the machine back together and was able to reach the and replace the broken part by removing the dryer vent tube from the back. Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
