My dishwasher is installed in a laundry room, adjacent to the kitchen, sandwiched between 2 walls. When I pulled out the dishwasher during a recent laundry room renovation, I noticed some mold had been growing on the insulation on one side of the dishwasher and its adjacent wall. I inspected the surrounding area and found no evidence of any water leakage. My machine is 28 years old and still running great. My only thought was, due to the confined space, the door gasket may not be sealing in the steam during washing. In my years of experience with everything from kitchen appliances to motor vehicles to Gulfstream corporate jets, seals get old and deformed from years of use, so replacement seemed to be in order. The replacement of this seal was very easy and it fit perfectly.
