First i watched helpful youtube videos by appliancepartspros and others. I learned of several probable causes and solutions, and dryer disassembly tips. I began disassembly, and discovered a broken dryer drum belt. It was a sears kenmore dryer, and the i was able to look up the belt by part number and dryer model number on the internet. I checked a few different suppliers, and found appliancepartspros.com to have the best price and most accurate cross referencing for the part i needed. I ordered the new belt online and it arrived very quickly in 2 days. I installed the belt, re-assembled the dryer, turned the dryer selector to an "on" position, and pressed the "start" button. It works!
