Anita E Reno , NV November 10, 2014 Appliance: Model GE PROFILE SPACEMAKER The ge oven door handle broke off at the bottom screw I was thrilled to find your site! Not only was the price better than I had seen elsewhere, there were user comments to give me encouragement. I was so close to just replacing my 17 year old oven (imagine!) due to fear of the repair. I followed the written instructions given by one person and also watched a couple of wonderful videos online and Viola! it was done. I simply had to loosen the top screw of the handle which was still intact and visible when you open the door and carefully remove the plastic trim piece from inside the oven door to reveal the lower screw which had broken off. The videos were helpful in identifying this trim piece and showing how to carefully pop it out. I used a thin blade paring knife, popped it out about 1/2 of the way around the oven, replaced the handle and then gently popped the trim piece back into place. Being a 59 year old woman, I was pretty proud of myself! 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes
