At first I thought it was the tub bearing that had failed and ordered the part. However, upon dismantling the washer, I discovered it to be the mode shifter and shaft assembly bearing. Also noticed that the belt was wearing so ordered a new belt, the shift assembly and a tub seal. The fix was perfect and the washer is like new! However, I didn't know that the tub seal came with the shift assembly so have an extra one.
I really appreciated the on-line video showing the detailed step by step instructions for the repair which is available to watch with each part ordered -- saved me from making mistakes.
