First, I diagnosed the faulty part - this had happened with a previous gas dryer so it was simple to assume the igniter was out. - I unplugged the appliance, opened the front of the dryer and removed the old igniter and saw it was damaged. Then I ordered the part online from Appliance PartsPros.com on a Friday and the part arrived on a Saturday. Before installing the new part, I swept out any lint and dust residue with a vacuum hose to avoid connection malfunctioning prior to installing the new part. Finally I replaced the new igniter where the old one had been removed - and the dryer is heating up and functioning properly
