Stand Mixer KP26M1XMR4 Kitchenaid Mixer Kp26m1xmr4: Leakage of grease outside the transmission housing into the casing of a kitchenmaid professional 600 stand mixer. How to replace Transmission Housing. Removal of housing followed by checking of all gears which lacked signs of wear. Cleaned out all old grease, reassembled gear assemblies and regressed entire mechanism with new grease. Cleaning out of the old grease took some time and included using que tips to get into all the gear groves and corners of the transmission area. The transmission housing was replaced even though the original was intact due to the better design of the replacement housing. A new transmission gasket was installed with the new housing and the entire assembly tightened and then tested. No leakage was observed in tests and repair seems to be successful. The one necessary tool that might not be available in some homes, but can be purchased at the big box stores, was a retaining clip pliers set. While not in a rush I was impressed that I placed the order for part one morning and received those parts the next day in the afternoon. Great service.
