I initially went to fix it by simply ordering a new lint screen--but one thing led to another! While I looked online for a new lint screen, I came across a video of a woman removing the back panel of her dryer. She then proceeded to remove the lint chute, and I was shocked by how much lint had gathered up inside. My husband knew what was coming next--Now I had to check our own dryer! So I removed the back panel and lint chute, which were all quite full of lint and debris--and discovered that the Lint Screen Housing Foam Seal and Blower Housing Foam Seal were both quite disintegrated. The light bulb was also caked in dust and had burnt out long ago. My first thought was to go to the local hardware store, but then I thought better of it and decided to get the right parts for the job and make sure everything was done correctly as possible. I was happy to be able to order all the parts I needed at once. Living in AK it may have taken a little longer to get here, but it was worth it! I cleaned all the lint out of the dryer, and removed all the old foam seals and replaced them with the new ones. I also took this time to replace the bulb. I then re-attached the dryer vent and back panel. My husband helped--it's so much faster and easier with two people. I guess these fixes were all little things- but with a brand new lint screen, new seals, and a new light bulb, I am much happier with my dryer and its performance.
