Upon investigation I found cracks in the carriage adjusters. Ordered both sides. Discovered the Maytag dishwasher uses Whirlpool parts. So ordered complete new factory replacements. My biggest problem was thinking it would be a complicated repair and that the online videos didn't quite match my unit which came into play right away when removing the rack from the appliance. Being an essentially snap out-snap in (only 3 small star drive screws to remove and reuse). SO..
1. snap off the roller stops. 2. Pull out the rack. 3. Turn over the rack so the bottom is up. 4. Remove the 3 screws on one side. snap off the cover. 5. Snap out the old carriage. Replace and reverse the procedure. The roller stop caps were made so the part is not side specific. That's it in a nutshell. Really is simple as long as you look at it that way.
