I noticed a whining sound coming from behind the refrigerator and discovered the fan was turning but only intermittently. I researched online and discovered two good options: clean the fan or replace the motor. Cleaning the fan didn't help. The motor looked easy to replace so I ordered it online. There is only one electrical connection running the fan and it's easy to pull. There is another plug or two nearby that should be pulled for ease of removing the bracket holding the fan motor and blades (which itself was a pain to remove but it was the best way to replace the motor). The new motor arrived in less than two days (regular delivery). I watched a short video online to confirm how to do the project. I cleaned the fan blades, etc., and replaced the motor on the bracket in just a few minutes. I then slid the bracket easily into place and plugged the (few) connections back into place. Voila! It worked perfectly!
