I thought I had analyzed the problem well. The dishwasher would not drain, thus making the dishwasher not cycle correctly. I ordered a new pump on a Sunday afternoon, outstanding customer service as it went out on Monday morning. I installed the new pump. Nothing worked. I went back to the videos again. The stand out was "look for clogs". So I traced this back to the wall outlet, 1/2" copper pipe, all clean. Final test; The outlet was the 1/2" copper pipe, it was clogged after 28 years. It became obvious that the drain was the problem. I capped this pipe off and connected the drain line to the disposal. Success! Now it works fine. Skip any half-inch drain line connection in the wall, go to the sink drain.
