This was the second time around. First time. I didn't have the spanner, and improvised. It didn't last. This time, I removed the old Washer Drive Block, cleaned out the shavings, unbent the tabs on the shaft (to which the block mates) and reassembled, making it very tight using the spanner wrench. Fingers are crossed.
